I was so excited to try out my Photoshop skills on an infographic. I think infographics are so interesting and making them is a very useful skill to have. Since I just started a job as a social media specialist and I keep finding myself checking optimal posting times, I decided to make an infographic based off that. I used the Adobe color website to help me create a monochromatic color scheme, which I added neutral white, black and gray to. I went for a modern, sans-serif font to match the technology topic. I repeated the shapes and icons to create consistency. I used the squares and ellipsis tool to create the shapes. One of the most valuable things I learned by completing this lesson was the free icon resource of Smashing Magazine. In past assignments I have had trouble finding icons. Since we were creating infographics, I knew I needed consistant packages of icons to make the design piece coherent. Smashing Magazine has a variety of free icon packages. I had a great time just scrolling through their options. They had different themes of icons that matched each other and would look great used together. This is a resource I will definitely be using again.
